    1. 表态

I really care about my appearance, and I like matching colors and styles.

    4. 总结

So yeah, I’m kind of picky when it comes to outfits.

  • Do you wear clothes of different styles on weekdays and weekends?
  • Yes, absolutely.

My weekday clothes are usually quite casual and low-maintenance since I don't want to spend too much time deciding what to wear in the morning.

Yet, on weekends, though, I enjoy dressing up a little because it helps me unwind and switch into a more relaxed mood.

  • What colors clothes do you like?
  • I'm quite into black. I think this is the most ideal color for me,as it helps the entire clothes look resistant to the dirt(show some dirt easily). You know, when my black sleeves got blotted, they look not that bad.

    5.Cars[new]

  • Did you enjoy traveling by car when you were a kid?
  • Yes, I really adored traveling by car when I was a kid.

    2)what types of cars do

  • What types of cars do you like?
  • When it comes to my favorite type of cars, hybird is undoubtedly my go-to choice.

Simply because they are more fuel-efficient and run with lower noise compared with ordinary petrol cars.

Additionally, they have no range anxiety as they can be refueled easily whenever necessary.

(For me, the combination of saving money on gas and having a smooth, peaceful driving experience is just perfect.)

  • Do you prefer to be a driver or a passenger?
  • I'm definitely into being a passenger rather than a driver.

It's a much better option for me because I can totally relax along the way without worrying about traffic or navigation.

For example, on long road trips with my friends, I always grab the back seat and enjoy the ride — watching the scenery, listening to music, or scrolling through my phone.

In contrast, being a driver is really draining枯燥 — you have to keep your eyes on the road the whole time and you cannot unwind at all during the trip.

  • What do you usually do when there is a traffic jam?
  • If I’m a driver , I usually listen to music or podcasts to pass/kill the time and stay relaxed.

If I'm a passenger, I might also check my phone or chat with the people around me.

Normally,I try not to get too impatient, because traffic jam is pretty common nowadays. (It's pretty common to see  …)

  • Do you think car colors are important?
(matter a lot)

    但是,不论如何in any cases,个人的颜色喜好当然是优先项—comes first

Firstly, from a practical perspective, black cars are actually less dirt-resistant, especially for those working in the construction industry.

Secondly, from a safety view, bright-colored cars stand out more on the road, which can effectively reduce the risk of traffic accidents.

    Personal preference comes first.

    EVEVT

  • Singing [new]
  • Do you like singing? Why?
  • Yes, I quite enjoy singing, especially when I hang out with friends at  -+KTV. It’s a really relaxing way to let off steam after a busy week, and it’s fun to sing along to my favourite songs together. I’m not skilled at it, but I don’t mind as long as I’m having a good time.

  • Have you ever learned how to sing?
  • No, I’ve never taken professional lessons to learn singing systematically. I just pick up songs by listening to them on my phone and imitate the singers casually. I’ve never focused on skills like breath control or pitch accuracy, since I only sing for fun.

  • Who do you want to sing for?
  • Honestly, I mostly sing for myself and my close friends. I’d feel really nervous singing in front of strangers, so I prefer to sing only around people I’m comfortable with. If I had to name a special group, I’d sing for my family on small occasions like birthday dinners.

  • Do you think singing can bring happiness to people?
  • Absolutely, I totally agree. Singing allows people to let out their emotions, whether they’re cheerful or upset. An upbeat song can lift your mood quickly, and even a soft tune can calm you down when you’re feeling low. It’s also a nice way to bond with others and create happy shared memories.

  • Do you like listening to others singing?
  • Yes, I do, as long as they’re not extremely off-key. I especially enjoy listening to people who sing with real feelings, even if their voice isn’t perfect. When I go to KTV with friends, I often sit back and listen to them sing their favourite songs — it feels like I get to know them a little better that way.

  • Have you ever take a singing class?
  • No, I’ve never taken a formal singing class before. I’ve watched some short tutorial videos online occasionally, but they were just basic tips and I never stuck with them. For me, singing is just a casual hobby, so I don’t feel the need to take professional training.

Some of them are pretty good at coming up with silly puns and dad jokes, which always lighten the mood whenever we’re having dinner or just chatting. To be honest, quite a few of their jokes are really corny, but we still laugh a lot — it’s more about having fun together than how funny the joke actually is.

Some jokes felt a bit awkward live, but it was still a really fun and memorable experience overall.

  • Are comedy shows popular in your country?
  • Band 6.5 回答: Definitely, comedy shows are super popular in China. You can find all kinds of comedy content everywhere, from short funny videos on social media to popular comedy variety shows on TV. In recent years, stand-up comedy and sketch shows have become really trendy among young people, while traditional forms like cross-talk are still loved by older generations. I think they’re popular because most people are under quite a lot of pressure these days, and comedy is an easy and accessible way to relax.

I'd like to talk about Shanghai Tower, which is one of the most famous landmarks in China.

It is mainly used as an office building, but it also contains a luxury hotel, restaurants, exhibition areas, and one of the highest observation decks in the world. It is located in the Lujiazui Financial District in Shanghai, surrounded by many modern skyscrapers.

What makes this building stand out is its unique appearance. It has a spiral design that twists gently as it rises into the sky, making it look elegant and futuristic. Since it is over 600 metres tall, it can easily be seen from many parts of the city. At night, the building is beautifully lit up, creating an amazing view along the Huangpu River.

I had the chance to visit Shanghai Tower a couple of years ago with my family. We went up to the observation deck, and the view of the whole city was absolutely breathtaking. It was exciting to see so many famous buildings from above.

The reason I like this building is not only because of its impressive height but also because it represents China's rapid economic development and modern engineering. Whenever I see pictures of it, I feel proud of how much the country has achieved. If I have the opportunity, I'd definitely like to visit it again in the future.

  • Describe a place you have travelled to that you would like to recommend to others[new]489可以串题
The place I’d like to recommend is Shanghai, a modern city in eastern China, and Shanghai Tower is the must-see spot there.
The amazing view from Shanghai Tower alone makes the whole trip worth it, so I totally recommend visiting Shanghai.
  • Describe a home that you like to visit but do not want to live in[new]
  • I’d like to talk about residential flats in Hong Kong, a place I absolutely love to travel to, yet I would never plan to settle down there permanently.

Hong Kong is unbelievably stunning. The combination of towering skyscrapers and Victoria Harbour creates world-famous sea views. Whenever I wander along the waterfront or climb up viewing platforms, I’m totally shocked by the breathtaking city scenery. It mixes modern glamour with unique local culture, and the delicious street food also makes every trip full of fun. I really enjoy spending short holidays here to sightsee and experience its special vibe.

Even so, I refuse to live here long-term, mainly due to its crazy housing prices and sky-high living expenses. First of all, the accommodation cost is ridiculous. Most local flats are tiny and cramped, but they cost an unbelievable amount of money to rent or buy. A small apartment would take up most of a person’s monthly salary.

Besides daily housing fees, everything else is pricey too. Groceries, transportation and dining out all cost far more than in mainland cities. As a student focusing on study, I cannot afford such heavy financial pressure at all.

I love visiting Hong Kong for its amazing views and rich culture, and every short trip leaves me wonderful memories. However, the extremely high cost of living makes it unsuitable for me to stay here for good. That’s why I only want to come for travel instead of making it my permanent home.

    Part 3

  • Do Chinese people like to visit others' homes?
  • English

Well, I think it depends on how close people are. For close family members and long-time friends, Chinese people really enjoy visiting each other’s homes. It feels warmer and more relaxing than meeting in a restaurant or café. We usually chat over home-cooked meals and spend casual time together. Visiting relatives’ homes is also a must-do tradition during festivals like the Spring Festival. However, for colleagues or casual acquaintances, most Chinese people prefer to meet in public places instead. Home is seen as a very private space, so we don’t easily invite people we are not very close to. Many young people also prefer hanging out outside rather than gathering at someone’s home.

    PEOPLE

  • Describe a friend from your childhood[new]
  • Describe a person who loves to grow plants (e.g.vegetables, flowers) at home or in the garden[new]
  • Speaking of a person who loves to grow plants, I’d like to talk about my aunt, who works as a nurse in a local hospital. She’s in her late 40s, and I’ve known her since I was a little kid. Actually, she’s been growing plants on her balcony for about five years.

She mainly grows easy-to-maintain vegetables, like spinach, cherry tomatoes and spring onions. Sometimes she also grows a few pots of flowers, such as jasmine and sunflowers. Her balcony is filled with all kinds of recycled containers, like foam boxes and used yogurt cups. Basically, she has turned her small balcony into a lovely mini farm.

She takes good care of those plants every day. She waters them regularly every morning, and makes sure they get enough sunlight. She also prepares nutrient-rich soil and checks for pests from time to time. Honestly, she treats those plants just like her own babies.

As for why she enjoys growing plants, there are several reasons. Firstly, it’s a great way for her to relax after busy work. Unlike scrolling through short videos on her phone, growing plants is much healthier and helps her leave all work stress behind. In addition, home-grown vegetables are more organic and safe, because she never uses any pesticides. Most importantly, she gets a strong sense of achievement when she harvests the vegetables. She always shares the fresh food with our family, which makes her feel really satisfied.

Elon Musk started several companies, but the one that impressed me the most is Tesla, which produces electric vehicles. He believed that clean energy would become the future of transportation, so he invested a huge amount of time and money in developing advanced electric cars. Later, he also expanded his business into space exploration through SpaceX and other technology projects.

I think his business is successful for several reasons. First of all, his companies provide innovative products that solve real-world problems, such as reducing pollution and making space travel more affordable. Secondly, he's willing to take risks and keeps improving his products instead of being satisfied with what he has achieved. Thanks to his vision and leadership, his companies have become world-famous and have influenced many industries.

Overall, I think Elon Musk is not only a successful businessman but also someone who has changed the way people think about technology and the future.

  • Describe a new law you would like to introduce in your country [new]
  • I’d like to introduce a new law to regulate single-use plastic tableware in the food delivery industry in my country.

The law has two main rules. First, all restaurants and delivery platforms cannot include disposable chopsticks, spoons or straws in orders by default. Customers have to select the option themselves if they need tableware, and they will pay a small extra fee for it. Second, all takeaway food boxes must be made of degradable materials instead of regular plastic. Businesses that don’t follow the rule will get fined.

I want to introduce this law mainly because of the huge plastic waste problem. Food delivery is extremely popular in China now, with millions of orders placed every single day. Most plastic tableware is used only once and then thrown away. It takes hundreds of years to decompose, pollutes soil and rivers, and even endangers wild animals. Also, a lot of customers receive tableware they don’t actually need, which is a total waste of resources.

I believe this law will make a big difference. The small fee will remind people to think twice before asking for disposable items, and more people may start carrying their own reusable chopsticks. It will also cut down plastic waste greatly and encourage more companies to develop eco-friendly packaging. It might take a while for people to get used to the new rule, but it will be really beneficial for the environment in the long term.

    Law:

    Full driverless technology

Younger than 16 years old — not allowed to use social media

use biodegradable plastic bags and cups/disposable dishware一次性餐具

government — give subsidies and reduce tax — EVs (electric vehicles)

    Sample:

I'd like to introduce a law that requires all shops, restaurants, and supermarkets to use biodegradable plastic bags and cups instead of traditional plastic ones. The main goal is to reduce plastic pollution and encourage people to live in a more environmentally friendly way.

If this law is introduced, businesses would gradually replace single-use plastic products with biodegradable alternatives. Although it might increase costs at the beginning, I believe people would get used to it over time. In the long run, it would help reduce waste, protect wildlife, and improve the environment for future generations.

I think this law would be quite popular, especially among young people, because environmental protection has become an important issue.

I came up with this idea after seeing so much plastic waste in parks, rivers, and on beaches. It made me realize that small changes in our daily lives can make a big difference.

Overall, I strongly support this law because it is practical, meaningful, and beneficial for both people and the planet. Even though it may require some adjustments at first, I believe it is a necessary step toward a cleaner and more sustainable future.

One special food I’d like to talk about is longevity noodles, which are a classic traditional Chinese dish. They are mainly eaten on birthdays, especially for elder family members, because they stand for the wish of a long and healthy life.

The noodles are made of wheat flour, and there is an important tradition that they should be kept as long as possible instead of being cut into short pieces. They are usually cooked in a light soup with vegetables, eggs, and sometimes beef or seafood. Although the recipe is not very complicated, people care a lot about how they look, since the long noodles are the symbol of longevity.

In my family, we always make this dish whenever someone has a birthday. We sit around the table, enjoy the meal together, and wish the birthday person good health and happiness. I think this tradition is very meaningful, because it shows the love and care between family members. Even though there are all kinds of delicious food nowadays, longevity noodles are still an important part of Chinese culture. They remind us that food is not just about taste, but also about sending good wishes and bringing families closer.

    1) Why are there special foods on special occasions or events?

English: I think there are two main reasons. First, most special foods carry strong cultural and symbolic meanings. For example, in China, people eat mooncakes during the Mid-Autumn Festival to represent family reunion, and eat dumplings at the Spring Festival for good fortune. These foods have almost become a symbol of the festival itself. Second, special foods help pass down traditions from generation to generation. They create a sense of ritual and make the occasion more memorable. When families gather to make and eat these foods together, it also strengthens family bonds and creates shared memories. Besides, many festival foods carry wishes for a better life — for example, eating niangao (rice cake) stands for rising fortune and progress in the coming year.

    2) What are the differences between everyday food and festival food?

English: There are several clear differences. To start with, everyday food is usually simple and time-saving. Most of the time, people cook quick home dishes just to satisfy their hunger, focusing on convenience and basic nutrition. Festival food, by contrast, is much more elaborate and complex. It often takes a long time to prepare, with more dishes and richer flavours. What's more, daily meals have no special cultural meaning — they only meet basic dietary needs. Almost all festival foods, on the other hand, have symbolic meanings, such as wishes for good luck or family unity. Finally, everyday meals are eaten casually, while festival food is usually shared with the whole family in a more formal and joyful atmosphere.

    3) Are there any differences between the food people eat today and the food people ate in the past?

English: Yes, there are huge differences. First of all, the variety of food is much wider now. In the past, people could only eat local, seasonal ingredients, but today, thanks to global trade and developed logistics, we can buy food from all over the world at any time of year. Second, eating habits have changed. Decades ago, almost every family cooked all meals at home, and the main goal was simply to be full. Now people care more about health, food safety and balanced nutrition, and many choose takeaways or eat out due to busy work schedules. Also, international cuisines are widely available today — like Japanese sushi, Italian pizza and Mexican food — all of which were very rare in China many years ago.

    4) Do people today prefer eating at home or in a restaurant?

English: I think it depends on the situation and age group. On workdays, most young people prefer eating out or ordering takeaways, because they are busy with work and have no time to cook. Restaurants are more convenient and save them a lot of time. But on weekends or holidays, many people would rather cook at home, especially when they are with their families. Home-cooked food is healthier and more comfortable, and it creates a warmer family atmosphere. Also, for social occasions like friend gatherings or business dinners, people definitely choose restaurants, as they are more suitable for group events. Generally speaking, older people prefer home cooking more, while young people eat out more often.

I’d like to talk about Coco, an animated movie I watched with my cousin last month during the summer holiday. We watched it at home on a streaming platform, since we didn’t want to go out in the hot summer weather.

The movie is set in Mexico, and it tells the story of a young boy named Miguel. He dreams of becoming a musician, but his family has banned music for generations. One day, he accidentally enters the Land of the Dead on the Day of the Dead. There, he meets a trickster named Hector, who helps him uncover the secret history of his family. After a series of warm adventures, Miguel finally returns home and helps his family reconcile with music.

There are several reasons why I really enjoyed this movie. Firstly, the plot is really touching and full of warm details. The theme about family and memory really resonated with me, and I even teared up a little at the ending. Secondly, the visual effects are amazing. The colorful Land of the Dead and the delicate character designs are really impressive. Most importantly, it teaches me that the people we love never really leave us as long as we remember them. It’s a simple but powerful message.

Overall, it’s one of the best animated films I’ve seen in recent years. I’d definitely recommend it to my friends, because it’s both entertaining and thought-provoking.

At first, I thought it was just a temporary software issue, so I tried restarting the phone several times. Unfortunately, nothing worked, and I started to panic because many of my photos and files hadn't been backed up.

Instead of giving up, I asked one of my friends for advice because he's quite good with technology. He suggested a few simple solutions, such as forcing a restart and clearing the system cache, but they didn't solve the problem. After that, I searched online and watched several tutorial videos. I carefully followed the instructions and even tried updating the system through my computer, but the phone was still frozen.

In the end, I decided to take it to an official repair center. The technician checked the device and found that the operating system had become corrupted. After reinstalling the system, my phone finally worked again, and luckily, most of my data was recovered. Although the whole process was quite stressful, it taught me the importance of backing up my files regularly and staying calm when dealing with technological problems.

  • What are the advantages and disadvantages of using social media?
  • What are the benefits and drawbacks of living in a tall building?

  • Is there more or less pollution today than in the past?
  • Is it easier to get a job today than in the past?

    Questions about giving suggestions

主体: government, certain organization, parents, individual

How can the government improve people’s health?

How can the traffic be improved in cities?

    1) How can the government improve people’s health?

I think the government can improve people's health in several ways. First of all, it can invest more money in public sports facilities like parks, gyms, and cycling lanes, so that people are encouraged to exercise regularly.

Another solution is to launch health education campaigns to teach people about healthy eating and the importance of regular check-ups. In addition, unhealthy products such as cigarettes and sugary drinks could be taxed more heavily to reduce consumption. If these measures are carried out together, people's overall health is likely to improve.

    healthy eating:

should eat: chicken breast, lettuce, broccoli, asparagus, beef, salmon, tuna,

    egg whites

stay away from: high-fat, high-salt food, sugary drinks, processed food

    check-ups/physical exams 体检

psychological health: psychological consulting services at school

regulation on working overtime — should be banned

remote work/work at home, flexible working hours

    2) How can the traffic be improved in cities?

    Traffic = jams, accidents

There are several effective ways to improve traffic in cities. One solution is to develop a better public transport system by increasing the number of buses and subway lines, which would encourage people to leave their cars at home.

Another approach is to build more cycling lanes and pedestrian-friendly streets, making short-distance travel easier and greener. The government could also introduce congestion charges or limit the number of private cars in busy areas during peak hours. I believe a combination of better infrastructure and stricter traffic policies would make city transport much more efficient.

    Reduce traffic accidents:

    Driving schools — stricter exams

    Traffic signs in remote areas

Over-speeding, drunk-driving — punish them harder — do community services for over 50 hours

    Questions about differences: /

    Key:

  • What are the differences between tv programs that old people and young people watch?
  • What are the differences between e-books and paper books?
  • 1. What are the differences between TV programs that old people and young people watch?

I think there are two main differences. The main difference is that their interests are different. Older people tend to enjoy news, documentaries, or traditional TV dramas because they prefer informative or familiar content. In contrast, young people are more interested in reality shows, sports, or online entertainment that is fast-paced and exciting.

What’s more, the platforms they use are different. Many older people still watch regular TV channels, while younger people usually prefer streaming services or short-video apps because they offer more choices and greater convenience.

online entertainment: stand-up comedy脱口秀, podcast, streaming media: Netflix

    blockbuster 大片

    2. What are the differences between e-books and paper books?

There are two major differences between them. The first one is convenience. E-books are much easier to carry because you can store thousands of books on one device, while paper books take up more space and are heavier.

The second difference is the reading experience. Many people think paper books are more comfortable to read since they don't cause as much eye strain and give readers a better sense of focus. On the other hand, e-books allow users to search for information quickly and adjust the font size, which makes reading more flexible.

Be distracted by new feeds from social media 推送

e-books are more eco-friendly — reduce deforestation

    — decrease land-degradation

    While

Paper books — collecting values — history books, literary classics

Personally, I think children should learn to use AI properly, but under the guidance of parents and teachers.

First of all, AI has become a basic tool in modern society, just like computers and smartphones 20 years ago. Learning to use AI at an early age helps children build digital literacy, which will be very useful for their study and future work. For example, they can use AI tools to look up information, get clear explanations of difficult knowledge points, or organize their study materials, which makes learning much more efficient.

Besides, using AI properly can also encourage children’s creativity. Instead of finishing tasks for them, AI can provide new ideas and different perspectives. For example, when children work on science projects or handcraft tasks, AI can offer many creative suggestions, and children can pick and improve those ideas on their own.

However, clear rules are necessary at the same time. Children should not rely too much on AI, especially when doing homework. If they just copy answers from AI directly, they will lose the ability to think independently and solve problems by themselves. So adults need to teach them to use AI as a helper, not a replacement for their own thinking.

Overall, the advantages are more than the disadvantages. As long as there is proper guidance, it is a good thing for children to learn to use AI.

    1. How can the government improve people’s health?

I think the government can improve people’s health in several ways. First of all, it can invest more in public sports facilities like community parks and cycling lanes, to encourage people to exercise regularly. Another solution is to launch health education campaigns, teaching people about healthy diets and the importance of regular physical check-ups. In addition, heavier taxes on cigarettes and sugary drinks could help reduce their consumption. I believe these measures will work well if carried out together.

    2. How can the traffic be improved in cities?

There are several effective ways to improve city traffic. One solution is to develop a better public transport system, by adding more bus routes and subway lines, so that more people will choose not to drive private cars. Another approach is to build more cycling lanes and pedestrian-friendly streets for short-distance trips. The government could also introduce congestion charges in busy city centers during rush hours. I think a mix of better infrastructure and proper policies will make city traffic much smoother.

    Questions about changes

In the past — one generation ago — 2 or 3 decades ago

  • Is there more or less pollution today than in the past?
  • Is it easier to get a job today than in the past?
  • Is there more or less pollution today than in the past?
  • Compared with the past, pollution has become more serious in many large cities due to industrial development. Air and water pollution are more noticeable because of heavy traffic and factories.

On the other hand, people today are more aware of environmental protection than before. Governments are introducing stricter laws to control pollution. In some developed countries, pollution levels have actually decreased. So, the situation depends largely on the region.

    Over-gazing

  • Is it easier or more difficult to get a job today than in the past?
  • I would say it's definitely more difficult to get a job currently than it was in the past, and one of the reasons for saying this is that in the past, there was generally less competition for jobs, because not that many people went to university, whereas these days, there are millions of graduates looking for jobs, which has made it extremely difficult to find a decent and high-paying job, unless of course you have good personal connections.

Another point I should mention is that 20 or 30 years ago, people were actually assigned jobs after completing university, so getting a job was pretty much guaranteed, whereas this is no longer the case.

Decent job: state-owned enterprises 国企 — stable job, will be broken, good benefits待遇: healthcare insurance, housing funds, social securities, various subsidies and holiday leaves

High-paying job: software engineers in IT giants, investment bankers, foreign-invested companies

    Easier:

    The growth of …

    The advancement of …

    Technology and internet

Food delivery riders — phone apps to order takeout easily — offer more than 10 million job opportunities

Relatively low threshold门槛 for employees, like education levels, ages and genders

Self-media creators — followers — endorsements, revenue shares, donations
